Madame de Pompadour loved the king, the opera and writing fascinating memoirs and just about anything that was interesting and political in the 1700's. Many things that we think are attributed to Marie Antoinette came from the Marquise de Pompadour. A title bought for her by the King.
He was so anxious to meet her in the right way that he arranged for a masked ball, the one in the famous painting where there are guests dressed like garden topiary ! She dressed as a milk maid and their love affair lasted a lifetime.
The muted aquas with the hint of old roses, apple blossoms and forget-me-nots will make you feel like you are in another time and another place....perhaps at Versailles, and you would be the number one love of King Louis XVth for your whole life.
This creation came for me at a time when I am suffering from exhaustion from orders and life's demands....funny how the most beautiful creative times can come upon us. I sat here so quietly in my little studio at dusk and was just so inspired. I couldn't wait to get here this morning to take the photos and to show my readers. I have them listed in the paper Nosh Web site here or at Paper Nosh Etsy store if you can't resist adding them to your collection or sending to cherished friends....... I would love to create a set for you !
